Ian Brooks began his dance training with tap in a small studio in Lake Jackson, TX, at the age of twelve. At the age of 13, he danced with Danceworks Unlimited in Victoria, Texas and began expanding his repertoire to ballet, contemporary, jazz, and hiphop. He performed in Austin Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble’s Nutcracker as the Nutcracker Prince. Upon returning to the Houston area, he danced with Ballet Center Houston and performed various leading roles in Houston Repertoire Ballet’s Nutcracker, Rodeo, and Stars and Stripes. Ian has also performed in promotional videos. Professional training has been continued through summer intensive programs in San Jose, CA and Washington D.C., and further training has included private training and classes at Houston Metropolitan Ballet with instructors such as Priscilla Nathan Murphy and Betsy McMillan. Ian has a love for teaching students in all forms of dance, choreography, performing, and music composition.
