New students are welcome!

Register early as space is limited.

Our Little ballerina summer camp will bring the excitement of The Nutcracker to life for our youngest students.

Each day, our dancers will explore one of the beautiful scenes of The Nutcracker, through three fun and educational classes:

  1. A themed ballet class for young students to learn new ballet steps, work on flexibility and coordination, and dance to beautiful music by Tchaikovsky and other ballet composers.
  2. Art class, designed to heighten children’s hand-eye coordination and teach art skills, all while creating fun art projects inspired by The Nutcracker ballet.
  3. Creative movement class, where we’ll enjoy structured dance games, learn to create our own movements and free dance to classical music.

The first day of our workshop, our dancers will be guests at a splendid holiday celebration, just like Clara and Fritz!  We’ll create tasty looking lollipop magic wands as party favors!

For our second workshop day, dancers will frolic in the Land of Toys, where toy soldiers, magical dancing dolls and, of course, a lovable wooden nutcracker come to life.  We will even paint a picture of the nutcracker in our arts and crafts classes.

Day three, we will journey through the Land of Ice and Snow, to meet the Snow King and Queen, and then create a sparkling snow crown.

Our fourth day, we’ll tour the Kingdom of the Sweets to celebrate Spanish Chocolate, Arabian Coffee and Chinese Tea! Our little artists will fashion dazzling watercolor wings for the Sugarplum Fairy and Cavalier.

In our final ballet class, we will enjoy the entire Nutcracker story from beginning to end, and dance every role in the ballet: from Clara and Fritz to the Snow Queen and King, to the Sugarplum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince and all of the dancers in the Kingdom of the Sweets! We will make vividly decorated Christmas trees in art class like the magically growing Christmas tree in the ballet!

Details, details!

The dancers will be divided into three groups by age and rotate through the three classes: Ballet (1 hr); Art (1 hr); Creative movement (45 min); Snack/bathroom break (15 min).

We will have three experienced teachers, a student helper (dressed in character), and our school administrator at the facility to create the best possible experience for  your child. Two of the three classrooms can be viewed through windows into our lobby area.

Snack/water: Parents are asked to send your child with a non-perishable snack or one in a cooler bag labeled along with a labeled water bottle. Please package snacks in containers or zip lock baggies that your child can open on their own.

Class attire leotard: if you are new to us and not planning on our year round program, we MAY have a leotard for your to borrow! Having your own tights and ballet shoes are required. Please contact us about borrowing the dress code leotard.
