In an effort to further progress their technique and skills, we have designed this workshop to include:
Ballet Technique and beginning Pointe work, taught by Kristy Nilsson, will continue to expand these dancers vocabulary in classical ballet, focusing on proper technique, and working on the strength needed to progress en pointe in their classical ballet education.
Progressing Ballet Technique which is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. This class taught by PBT certified instructor, Leah Stark.
Modern Dance, while having definite technical aspects, gives the dancer a freedom of expression that Ballet sometimes cannot. Modern Dance offers dancers a chance to explore their creativity through movement. It also builds strength in different ways, working with a lower center of gravity and using movement that is off-center, both are advantageous to well rounded dancers.
