BCH Dancers in Levels 3,4,5 have the opportunity to audition for Houston Repertoire Ballet’s annual Nutcracker production!!
(Dancers must be enrolled in ballet classes at BCH to audition)

Studio A
- must be in good standing with BCH – including consistent class participation and tuition payments
- maximum height 5’3″
- if you have a question about your students eligibility to audition, please contact Judy Jackson in advance of the audition.
Level 5 11:30am check-in
Level 4 12:15pm check-in
Level 3 1:00pm check-in
Students will check-in at the BCH desk and then proceed to Studio B for costume measurements. From there they will go to Studio A for the audition.
Parents, please hold onto all personal items for the dancer. Dancers should check-in with their ballet shoes on and in proper class attire. No bags or water bottles should be with the dancers.
All students will be dismissed through the EXIT ONLY door on the Jackrabbit side of the parking lot.
Registration via Cheddar Up will be live from Aug 22 at midnight through Sept 3 at midnight.

Parent/Student Meeting
Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at 1pm
Role placements will be emailed out after the auditions, the same day.
You or a representative MUST attend this meeting. This is when you will turn in your commitment form and participation fee.

There is a $100 fee if you choose to participate to help defray the costs related to rehearsals/costume/production costs plus you will receive a digital download link for a video of the performance.
(Payable via CheddarUp with credit or debit card, or ACH. Cash or Checks payable to Houston Repertoire Ballet will also be accepted at the studio.)
Rehearsals will be on Saturdays: September 14,21,28 October 5,12,19,26, November 2,9,16,23 at BCH (Afternoons somewhere between 1-4pm depending on your assigned part)
(Note: no rehearsal on Sat 11/30)
Extra rehearsal (mandatory) for all cast on Sunday afternoon December 1 just after Thanksgiving at BCH
Mandatory Dress Rehearsals will be during the week of performance at the theatre. Planned rehearsal for Friday, Dec 6
Rehearsal attendance is critically important! Upon a second absence, the artistic director may decide to remove the dancer from the production. You should plan to attend all rehearsals! There are only ELEVEN Saturday rehearsals, ONE extra rehearsal, plus the Dress rehearsal!

There are 4 performances open to the public. Depending on the number of participants, dancers should be split into two casts – A & B and will be assigned certain performances to participate in.
